Well, we had a fantastically productive weekend at the rather lovely Soup Studios in Limehouse. We recorded six tunes in total and once they’ve had a final mix sometime in the next few weeks, we’ll make them available for your delight and delectation.

Three of them never recorded before and three revamped and revitalised blasts from the past.

We’re heading into the studio this weekend to record some tunes especially for you. Yes we are. We’re going to Soup Studios in Limehouse to knock up a few songs for a probable EP.

Club Wino is back and this time it goes all the way up to ten

 Tony Black and the Collectors, no strangers to the Club Wino stage are back in town with their exuberant and eclectic mix of pop & folk.

 Bakelite Space Programme are the next rather marvelously named rock ‘n’ roll incarnation of Jonnie (stickman extraordinaire and former Wino) & Russ

 Plus your hosts, Neil Gowans & The Winos with their particular brand of countrified power pop ‘n’ roll.

 All this, downstairs at The Roadtrip and Workshop in Old Street on Friday 20^th November.

Well, the Hertford Music Festival was a blast. So thanks to all who helped organise and to those who came along to listen.

Next on the agenda it’s probably going to be a little bit of recording and the next show in the diary is the next Club Wino, Club Wino X and that’s due to take place on the 20th November. 

There may be others before then and we’ll keep you posted.

The next outing for us takes place on Sunday 30th August. We’re joining Hertford Music Festival’s Musical Mystery Tour and we’ll be playing twice….yes twice in the one day.

The first stop is the Blackbirds pub at 1.45 pm where we’ll be doing about 30 mins, then later on at about 8.15 pm we’ll be in the basement lounge at the Hertford House Hotel. It’d be great to see you at either or both. The Musical Mystery Tour is a great day out in Hertford when pretty much every pub, bar or restaurant  that has a little bit of space puts on bands, duos or solo performers (anyone who makes a noise really). It starts around midday and goes on pretty much all the way through to chucking out time. It should be fun.

Anyway, we are now all rehearsed and ready to lay siege to Rock at the Castle on Sunday 2 Aug. It should be fun with a nice compact 30 minute cover free set.

We’re on at 2.45.

Come on, come on and dance all night………..despite the heat it’ll be alright

Last night was the first practice with all four of us in quite a while as our last outing was without James. The poor fella was stricken/struck/strook with Chicken Pox. Really not nice.

Anyway, James is much better now and the good news is we’ve still got it. Oh yes we have.

We’ve been getting ready for The Cavendish Arms next week on 10th July and Club Wino IX on 8th August . There are some new tunes to unleash and we also have a small selection of exquisite cover versions from which we’ll pick a couple at each gig. It’s all go round here I can tell you. At this rate we’ll be vying for a nomination for the hardest working band in showbiz.

Right, that’s enough wibbling on. Here are a couple of flyer type things for the upcoming gigs. It would be lovely to see you at one or both of them.

Well then, we know that you know that we are getting ourselves in tip top shape for the rather fabulous and previously announced Club Wino IX, that takes place at the Underbelly on 8^th August.

In order to ensure maximum groovaciousness at said event, we need to have ourselves a wee warm-up just to ensure that the required levels of awesomeness are reached. Ahem.

To that end we shall be appearing at that little South London jewel known as the Cavendish Arms on Friday 10^th of July.

It would be fantastic to see you there as your support is always appreciated. It will after all, be the first outing for the full new line-up as a poor old chicken pox afflicted James had to miss the last one.
