Club Wino 13

CLUB WINO XIII

Club Wino is back and it returns to a favourite venue, Zigfrid von Underbelly in Hoxton Square on Friday 3rd November.

Doors 7.30pm

Your hosts, Neil Gowans and The Winos, with their particular brand of countrified power pop ‘n’ roll, will be joined by some very special guests.

Sean ‘Doctor’ Millar, with violin accompaniment from fellow Cute Hoor, Phil Martin, is a singer and songwriter of prodigious talent variously described as ‘Ireland’s best lyricist’ and ‘the poet laureate of Ireland’s dark side’.

Making their Club Wino debut will be The Tupelos, who blend alt-country, classic pop and indie to play songs of love, loss and heartbreak.

There may even be a little bit more – you should be so lucky – and all for only a fiver!

So come on down Hoxton way for a marvellous night of exquisite entertainment.

Stay tuned for more rock ‘n’ roll,

WINOS RETURN

Sorry, we’ve been a bit remiss on the ol’ website updating thing.  Since last here, we’ve done Rock in The Priory and a couple of other bits and pieces. Next up, we have a couple of performances at the Musical Mystery Tour in Hertford on Sunday 27th. Details are still a little sketchy but as soon as we have them. we’ll let you know. Still, come to Hertford on 27th when pretty much every pub and venue in Hertford has some kinda music going on from noon to midnight.

Stay tuned for more rock n’n roll

Here comes the summer

Just a quick update with some forthcoming shows/gigs.

The Big Day Out at the Furzedown Festival on Saturday 17th June. I think we’re on about 4.30 but details to be confirmed.

We’re also doing Rock in the Priory in Ware, um, Priory on Sunday 23rd July, on about 1.30 pm

I expect there’ll be some other stuff too, so…

CLUB WINO XII

After a short sojourn, Club Wino is back and now we’ve made it all the way up to number twelve

This one will take place downstairs at The Roadtrip and Workshop in Old Street on Saturday 8th April.

As the venue is what some might call bijou, there will be a slightly smaller bill than usual featuring your hosts, Neil Gowans and The Winos and our particular brand of countrified power pop ‘n’ roll. We’ve even got a couple of new tunes.

We will be accompanied by The Bakelite Space Programme, the rather marvellously named rock ‘n’ roll incarnation of Jonnie & Russ, who can rustle up a hell of a din, despite being just the two of them.

So, come join the fun at Club Wino 12, it’s been a while and we’d love to see you.

Stay tuned for more rock ‘n’ roll,

Back in Black

And yellow….and some white too.

Well we’ve been away for a little while for all sorts of reasons but now we’re back to let you, we can…etc.

So, the no longer quite so new EP, The Soup Sessions, should now (or very soon) be available on iTunes, which is all very exciting. Also, too and as well, we’ve got a couple of gigs coming up in April.

We’re in the process of organinsing Club Wino 12  which is probably going to take place on 7th April at the Workshop at the Roadhouse and then at the end of the month we’ll be at the Cavendish Arms in Stockwell.

More details will follow so stay tuned for more rock ‘n’ roll

In the soup

Yes indeed, the Soup Sessions EP is finally with us. It’s got six lovely tunes on it, all recorded at Soup Studios in East London. It’ll be available at gigs and such for those who like to hold onto their music  and it’ll only cost  a fiver.  Also, once we’ve worked out the technicalities, we’ll get it on iTunes or Bandcamp or some kinda thing like that so that you can download it.

Anyway, heres a wee pic of the merchandise.
